Summary:

As a Disability Support Worker in Melton, Victoria, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. This temporary, casual position requires a compassionate and dedicated professional who can provide support in various settings, including Supported Independent Living (SIL) and in-home care. Your contributions will ensure that clients can access their communities and participate in social activities, fostering independence and dignity.

Responsibilities:

  • Support an ASD child by providing care and assistance with daily activities.
  • Assist with cleaning and laundry tasks to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Provide respite for parents, allowing them time to rest and recharge.
  • Facilitate community access and social participation for clients.
  • Encourage and support clients in developing independent living skills.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Document and report on client progress and any concerns to relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate III in Disability Support or related field
  • Diploma in Community Services
  • Experience in the disability support sector
  • Experience in Supported Independent Living (SIL) and in-home care (IHC) settings
  • Fluency in Auslan is highly desirable
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills
