Practice Manager – Te Aranga Clinic
As we step into a new chapter of growth, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Practice Manager to lead the team at Te Aranga Clinic. This is not a typical general practice!
As part of a kaupapa Māori organisation, we work alongside wrap-around social services to support predominantly high-needs whānau — addressing the whole person, not just presenting symptoms.
About the organisation
He Waka Tapu is a Kaupapa Māori organisation who work to increase the health and wellbeing of whānau.
Our onsite GP clinic, Te Aranga Health, supports our community by providing accessible general practice services.
About the role
The successful applicant will play a key leadership role in the day-to-day operations of our service.
This is an exciting time of growth and change, and you will work closely with the Te Aranga Operations Manager to guide kaimahi through this journey, while ensuring our whaiora receive mana-enhancing GP care.
The mahi is complex and demanding. You will lead in an environment shaped by addiction, mental health challenges, family harm, and reintegration — where equity is not a slogan but daily practice.

What you will do
- Provide strong, values driven leadership to kaimahi
- Build warm, trusting relationships with whaiora/clients and ensure outstanding patient experience
- Strengthen practice operations, systems, funding and admin processes
- Support team development, rostering and clinic workflow
- Represent Te Aranga Health as a visible, present and supportive leader
What you will bring
- Proven leadership grounded in manaakitanga and rangatiratanga
- Excellent communication, relationship building and problem-solving skills
- Administration experience (rostering, invoicing, and claiming)
- Confidence in the use of IT systems and programs (MS Office suite and MedTech/Indici)
- Health sector experience
- Confidence operating in a kaupapa Māori environment
