Halliday Wine Companion is the leading authority on Australian wine. Encompassing an engaged digital subscriber base, Australia’s bestselling wine magazine, an award-winning website, monthly Wine Club and regular events, Halliday ensures that our community never drinks a bad bottle of wine again.
We now have an outstanding opportunity within the Halliday team for a savvy, strategic Senior Media Sales Manager. This crucial lead sales role is responsible for driving and expanding advertising and sponsorship revenue across all our media assets, including print, digital platforms, key partnerships, and future developments.
Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, the Senior Media Sales Manager will play an instrumental role in achieving advertising targets. You’ll accomplish this by conceptualizing and negotiating high-value, bespoke, cross-platform proposals for top-tier clients in diverse sectors such as wine, travel, hospitality, and retail.
Key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Leading the development and execution of advanced strategic sales plans to secure significant advertising partnerships and exceed sponsorship revenue targets across the entire Halliday portfolio
- Independently conceptualizing, negotiating, and delivering high-impact, customized client proposals that drive substantial growth
- Cultivating strategic, long-term relationships with both existing and prospective Halliday advertising partners through a consistent and proactive virtual and in-person engagement cycle
- Overseeing and optimising commercial activities within a designated, high-value client segment
- Ensuring strategic collaboration with internal teams (Content, Marketing, Product, Design) to ensure seamless, top-tier campaign execution and client satisfaction
- Driving actionable insights from campaign analysis reports and presentations to inform future strategy and identify new opportunities
- Partnering with the Commercial Director to innovate and spearhead the development of new, significant revenue streams.
About you:
Our ideal candidate is an established and highly strategic sales/account leader with a minimum of 5-7+ years of proven experience driving sustained revenue-generating outcomes in media cross-selling environments. With an advanced ability to anticipate and proactively address their client’s long-term strategic goals, the successful candidate will possess a clear, collaborative approach and superior stakeholder relationship skills. You’ll be driven to ensure that advertising campaign objectives are not just met, but surpassed.
If you are passionate about utilising your extensive media sales expertise to shape the strategic direction and impact the ongoing successes of the Halliday Wine Companion, we’d love to hear from you. While broad media experience is essential, a deep understanding of categories including wine, drinks, travel, and/or lifestyle categories will be highly regarded.
