What is the Role?

Seeking experienced Enrolled Nurses to join our team across night shifts only & at both sites (Burradoo & Moss Vale) – part-time.

Primary purpose of the role

The role of an Enrolled Nurse is to work in collaboration with the care services and management team to deliver quality and comprehensive nursing care to all residents using a ‘person centred’ approach. Whilst ensuring all standards of practice, legislation and AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) requirements are met. This includes the supervision, coordination, and delegation of resident care to all direct reports.

In this role, you will be responsible for the following (but not limited to):

  • Provide nursing care to patients in a variety of healthcare settings
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician or Registered Nurse
  • Monitor patient progress and report any changes to the Registered Nurse
  • Assist with patient assessments and develop care plans
  • Provide emotional support to patients and their families
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible patient outcomes
  • Adhere to all healthcare regulations and standards

Key Accountabilities

  • Practice and promote safe, efficient and effective nursing care under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
  • Ensure work performed is within scope of practice.
  • Develop, implement and assessment care plans in accordance with the individual needs of the residents using the ‘person centred’ approach.
  • Understand each person and recognising their unique background and individual needs, whilst supplying empathic care to all residents.
  • Ensure all documentation requirements are completed daily in accordance with ANACC and processes.
  • Ensure all individualised care plans and assessment are accurate and updated when the needs of the resident change promoting ‘ageing in place’.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds (MDR) on schedule.
  • Attend mandatory meetings and training.
  • In conjunction with the Registered Nurse, develop plans, programs, and initiatives to maximise care recipient outcomes while maintaining professional accountability, focus on resident service and collaboration with all residents.
  • Manage and supervise a safe medication administration system when required.
  • Work in partnership with Medical Practitioners and other Allied Health Professionals to develop and deliver specialised nursing care to ensure the best possible outcomes for care recipients.
  • Demonstrate accountability for clinical decision-making under Registered Nurse supervision and practice whilst identifying personal learning needs and opportunities for growth.
  • Assist with GP rounds when required.
  • Mentor care staff when required.
  • Any other reasonable task allocated to you within scope of practice

Requirements:

  • Diploma of Nursing and current registration with AHPRA.
  • A current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Minimum 3 year’s experience working night shifts in an aged care facility
  • Ability to lead and direct a care services team.
  • Considerable knowledge and understanding of the industry’s practices and relevant statutory requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong relationship building skills and customer centric approach.
