ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Career Paralegal/Conveyancer to join our in-house Legal team.

Reporting to the Senior Paralegal, you will provide timely, practical and reliable support across a broad range of property-related legal matters. Your work will include property sales and acquisitions, settlements, deceased estate matters, rental documentation, tribunal preparation, compliance, due diligence and legal administration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will:

  • Assist with property sales, acquisitions, deceased estate matters and settlement processes.
  • Prepare, review and coordinate transaction documents, correspondence, approvals and signatures.
  • Review settlement information and calculations within delegated authority.
  • Monitor critical dates, conditions and outstanding actions to support timely settlements.
  • Prepare rental documentation using approved templates and coordinate associated approvals and filing requirements.
  • Assist with tribunal matters by preparing evidence, chronologies, correspondence and hearing materials.
  • Conduct legal and regulatory research and prepare clear, practical summaries.
  • Support compliance reviews, due diligence activities and the maintenance of legal and compliance records.
  • Maintain accurate matter files, databases, legal registers and document repositories.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external advisers to obtain information and progress matters.
  • Identify opportunities to improve templates, checklists, systems and recurring legal processes.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • At least two years’ experience in a paralegal, conveyancing or legal assistant role.
  • Experience supporting property transactions, settlements, rental matters or related legal work.
  • Strong legal document preparation, drafting, proofreading and research skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate and timely work.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and critical deadlines.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound judgement and discretion when handling confidential and privileged information.
  • A collaborative, practical and customer-focused approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using document management, matter management or comparable business systems.

A qualification in paralegal studies, legal services, business administration or a related discipline will be highly regarded. Experience supporting tribunal matters, compliance reviews, due diligence activities or work within the property, holiday park, village or residential land lease sectors would also be beneficial.
