Concrete Batcher

The HB Group is a local Northern Territory family-owned company and a leading supplier of construction and quarry products in the Northern Territory for over 65 years. We are a company with an excellent reputation for premium service within our industry, recently winning Supplier of the Year at the 2025 Civil Construction Federation Awards.

Due to significant increase in concrete supply demand within remote Northern Territory, we are currently seeking, for an immediate start, an experienced Concrete Batchers with loader experience to work within our concrete team in Winnellie.

About The Role

The Concrete Batcher is responsible for accurately batching, mixing and allocating concrete to meet project specifications while maintaining quality, efficiency and safety standards. This role ensures the correct delivery of concrete products to various job sites in a timely manner, optimises plant operations and supports effective inventory and resource management in line with company procedures and regulatory requirements in Darwin.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure customer requirements are met in good and professional matter and resolve any issues/problems
• Accurate batching of orders to specified mix designs. Processing accurate documentation in a timely manner
• Manage rostering of drivers and loader operators to meet demand
• Ensure all staff keep plant and equipment operational, clean, and in a presentable manner, being sure that pre-start documentation is done correctly
• Ensure staff members have effective line of communication
• Undertake all essential day to day administration of batch plant
• Maintain inventory and record movement of inventory. Order and stock control of raw materials
• A willingness to participate in long duty hours and adaptable to changing shifts
• Liaise with line managers to achieve efficiency and profitably the desired outcomes for the operation
• Co-ordinate fleet maintenance with Workshop Manager
• Liaising with Accounts Department, the customer and other personnel to ensure that orders are processed in a timely manner
• Ensuring that all health, safety and environmental measures are adhered to by any member of staff/person at the concrete plant, including the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment and advising them accordingly

What We are Looking For

• Minimum 3 years experience in concrete batching
• Current and valid NT Drivers Licence (HR licence preferred)
• Proven experience operating front end loader
• Certificate 3 in Civil Construction – Plant Operations (preferred but not essential)
• NT Industry Construction White Card
• Ability to obtain a police clearance for the purposes of a DCAC
• Strong understanding of fatigue management and NHVR regulations
• Good mechanical awareness and problem-solving skills
• Reliable, punctual and safety focused attitude
