About the Role:

What we’re looking for:
Trade Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or related Engineering Degree
- At least 5 years professional experience as a design engineer of mechanical
components/assemblies, working from concept to manufacture
Technical experience:
- Demonstrable experience in designing machinery
- Advanced experience with a 3D modelling package (ideally Solidworks)
- Strong understanding of dimensioning and tolerancing, thorough knowledge of AS1100
- Functional experience with Finite Element Modelling (FEA)
- Ability to work effectively unsupervised as well as part of a team.
- Strong computing skills in the Microsoft Suite and other applicable design software as required for the
role.
- Excellent communicator,both written and verbal.
- Varied experience in designing for a range of manufacturing methods (e.g., machining, fabrication/welding, assembly, and surface treatments)
In addition to the above, you must be able to
- Pass a pre-employment, medical including drug and alcohol screening
- Provide GTE with 2 professional references (following interview)
