Position Overview:

As a Project Coordinator, you will play a key role in managing and overseeing projects from inception to completion.  You will be working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.  If you are a strong leader with experience in managing complex projects, we want to hear from you!

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee marine and industrial projects from inception to completion.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Manage project timelines effectively including allocating resources and scheduling works.
  • Motivate staff providing leadership and guidance to our team and ensure compliance with quality control procedures.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
  • Supervise multiple tasks spreading across various sites each day.
  • Resolve project issues and evaluate and implement improvement changes with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Initiate action to prevent non-conformance.
  • Quoting, task pack creation, resource allocation, task execution and delivery.
  • Perform additional duties as requested.

 

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Project Coordinator role, or a closely related position, within the marine, shipbuilding, fabrication, engineering or welding industry.
  • Sound understanding of welding processes, fabrication techniques, quality requirements and workplace safety standards.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects, priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong organisational, planning and communication skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Experience liaising with trades personnel, subcontractors, suppliers and clients to achieve project outcomes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
  • Ability to read, interpret and review technical drawings, isometric drawings, fabrication drawings and project documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues proactively.

Qualifications and Licences

  • Trade Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade, Welding, Boilermaking or equivalent trade qualification.
  • Current Construction White Card.
  • Current C-Class Driver’s Licence.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Clearance.
  • CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector certification (desirable).
  • Ability to obtain and hold a Defence Security Clearance Pass.
