GRNSW is invested at every stage of the greyhound lifecycle from breeding, racing to rehoming. GRNSW ensures the successful sustainability and long-term commercial viability of the industry in caring for our People, Pups and Participants.
GRNSW is a body corporate constituted by the Greyhound Racing Act 2017, and charged with providing strategic direction and leadership in the commercial management of the industry in NSW. In its role, GRNSW promotes the exciting racing aspect of the industry, but also the equally important welfare and rehoming of our animals once their athletic careers are behind them.
About the role!
A procurement guru with a strong governance and systematic focus. The position works closely with the Head of Finance in both strategic and operational support to the business. This role is designed to ensuring operational excellence protocol practices in procurement. A highly hands-on position that oscillates between developing newly required programs, practices and the day-to-day operational delivery.
Responsibilities:
• Identify gaps and identify resolutions to close them.
• Provide advice to stakeholders on purchasing and procurement supply ensuring compliance to budget (operational and capital).
• Ensure all costs are captured and reported consistent with process established within the function.
• Identify, isolate and improve cost expenditure related to area of control.
• Ensure approval process in place through Expenditure Revenue Committee and or Head of Finance.
• Building effective strategic relationships and partnerships with diverse stakeholders to increase industry consultation, promote transparency and enhance
greyhound racing’s integrity, sustainability and long-term viability.
• Provide advice and support to staff on a range of procurement issues, including procurement strategies, legislative requirements, contract management,
external market analysis, and budget management.
• Provide informed advice to managers and staff on matters dealing with ethical behaviour and good practice. Ensure customer (internal and external) is
compliant with company policy and procedure at all times.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, systems and performance frameworks for all procurement related activities to deliver effective and efficient
outcomes; apply procurement governance and risk management frameworks to ensure compliance, manage risk, and improve procurement activity and
performance.
• Coordinate procurement plans, strategies and tender documents to meet business needs, enhance stakeholder engagement, and challenge and motivate
providers to optimise service outcomes
• Work with stakeholders to support supply strategies, establish supply arrangements, lead high-level negotiations and manage contracts to deliver value for
money outcomes.
• Keeping abreast of changes and best practice in procurement practices, bringing insight and improvement to the role.

About You!
• Minimum diploma in Business or other relevant qualifications with at least 5 years in a similar position.
• Experienced in negotiation of current and new contracts with suppliers ensuring favourable outcomes for GRNSW and subsidiaries.
• Superior interpersonal, communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills; experience managing conflict and grievances
• Excellent research, analytical and written communication skills, including the ability to comprehend and relay complex information for various audiences.
• Superior organisational skills including a demonstrated ability to manage and prioritise tasks to meet tight timeframes.
• High level personal ethics, integrity, respect for others and an ability to deal professionally and effectively with a diverse range of people.
• Knowledge of Coupa advantageous but not essential.
• Understanding of contemporary corporate governance approaches.
• Strong conflict resolution, negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to resolve disputes, find consensus and negotiate agreements
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with excellent report writing skills
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and high level interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and contribute in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
• Understanding of GRNSW’s regulatory environment, including the ability to quickly gain knowledge of its legislation, rules and core business.
