Description

About Good George Brewing

Founded in 2012 in a converted church in the heart of Hamilton, Good George Brewing has grown into much more than a brewery. We are a nationally recognised market leading brand with presence in multiple sectors and every region across NZ.

Our Hamilton brewery is the beating heart of our operation, where we produce a wide range of beverages in kegs, cans, and our signature glass squealers. Since 2019, we’ve expanded into distilling our own gin and whisky, which has quickly become a core part of our business.

We are looking to the future and continuously improving the sustainability of our business and products. We do this by looking after our team, helping our community through various partnerships, monitoring and improving our waste production and production efficiencies. We care deeply about creating the best quality products available.

We’re a passionate team driven by craft, creativity, and community – and we’re looking for someone who shares that spirit to join us.

Our Values: Create, Inspire, Together

At Good George, we’re all about shaking things up and pushing boundaries. We thrive on creativity and innovation. We value collaboration, mutual respect, and having fun together.

We work hard and celebrate our achievements – by playing hard too!

The Opportunity

Good George isn’t just another brewery. We’re an award-winning, nationally distributed brand known for punching above our weight. We’ve built a reputation for bold ideas, sharp execution and showing up differently – on shelf, behind the bar and in culture.

We’re excited to be looking for a Marketing Manager to lead the next phase of brand and commercial performance. This is a senior leadership role with real impact. You’ll own brand strategy and execution end-to-end, lead a capable marketing team, and ensure every dollar of marketing investment delivers measurable commercial return.

You’ll work closely with the GM and Sales team to align brand ambition with revenue outcomes across retail, on-premise and ecommerce.

If you’re commercially sharp, decisive, and ready to take full ownership of a high-profile NZ brand, this is your opportunity.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading the annual and ongoing brand planning process – setting direction and making sure it delivers commercially
  • Owning brand execution across all touchpoints: campaigns, packaging, content, launches, and on-prem activation
  • Driving NPD from concept through to launch, including positioning, naming, packaging and go-to-market plans
  • Building campaigns that support our on-prem focus and strengthen our presence in hospitality
  • Helping to drive a social, digital and ecom strategy that engages and converts. Growing online revenue so it delivers against sales targets and budgets
  • Managing the ecom calendar, promotions and performance metrics to ensure consistent growth
  • Oversee the execution of major brand events and activations ensuring they are commercially sound, operationally well-executed and aligned to brand strategy
  • Making sure marketing activity directly supports sales plans and commercial objectives
  • Working closely with Finance on managing budgets and ROI.
  • Leading and developing the marketing team in a way that keeps things high-performing but still human

What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years’ experience in senior marketing roles, ideally within FMCG, beverage, retail or hospitality
  • Proven experience leading brand strategy with clear commercial outcome
  • Strong experience in NPD, campaigns and product launches
  • Solid understanding of digital marketing and ecommerce performance metrics
  • Proven experience managing or supporting large-scale events or brand activations, ideally within FMCG, beverage or hospitality
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and deliver ROI
  • Experience leading and developing capable team members
  • Commercially confident, data-literate and decisive
  • Comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels
  • A leader who builds trust, accountability and momentum

Why Good George

We’re independent, proudly local and ambitious. You’ll have the freedom to shape a recognised NZ brand, lead a strong team, and see your ideas turn into real commercial results.

This is a genuine opportunity to step into a leadership role with visibility, ownership and impact.
