The Opportunity
The Project Scheduler plays a crucial role in the Defence sector, ensuring that projects are planned, executed, and delivered on time and within budget. Based in Canberra, this permanent full-time position requires a detail-oriented individual who can effectively manage schedules and coordinate with various stakeholders to support the successful delivery of defence projects. The role is vital for maintaining operational efficiency and meeting strategic objectives within the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project schedules using appropriate scheduling tools and techniques.
- Coordinate with project managers and team members to gather project requirements and timelines.
- Monitor project progress and adjust schedules as necessary to ensure timely completion.
- Prepare and present regular status reports to stakeholders, highlighting any potential risks or delays.
- Facilitate communication between different departments to ensure alignment on project timelines and deliverables.
- Assist in resource allocation and management to optimise project efficiency.
- Conduct regular reviews of project schedules and implement improvements as needed.
About you
- Current/recent experience in project scheduling within the Defence sector.
- Proficient in project management software and scheduling tools (e.g., Open Plan Professional, Microsoft Project, Primavera).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Experience in the application of Project Controls
- Currently hold an NV1 Commonwealth (AGSVA) Security Clearance. Please note, only Australian Citizens are eligible to obtain a Commonwealth of Australia Security Clearance
