As a Cellar Door Sales & Tour Guide, you’ll be the face of the brand -welcoming guests, guiding them through hosted wine tastings and immersive cave experiences and delivering memorable moments that reflect our story, our wines, and our values.

This role blends sales, storytelling, and hospitality – ideal for someone who thrives on connection, enjoys presenting to groups, and brings energy to every interaction.

About the role:

  • Deliver the Gibbston Valley brand story through engaging, educational wine tastings and guided cave tours
  • Provide a high standard of hospitality, aligning brand and commercial expectations
  • Host a variety of guest types – from both local and international visitors
  • Confidently support wine sales and help guests find products they love
  • Create a warm, energetic environment that leaves a lasting impression

About you:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in in wine sales, cellar door, or wine tourism environments
  • Strong understanding of New Zealand and international wine market
  • WSET Level 3 essential
  • Confident conducting tastings and communicating wine stories to international guests
  • Experience working across both sales and operational hospitality environments preferred
  • Ability to work weekends, public holidays, and peak tourism seasons
  • Must have full NZ working rights NO SPONSORSHIP AVAILABLE
  • Reliable transport (we’re 25 mins from Queenstown CBD)

Location: Gibbston Valley Wines – Otago, Gibbston

Employment type: Full-time permanent position

Hours of work: Guaranteed 30 hours per week on a rotating roster, including weekends from Monday – Sunday.

Wage: Competitive pay plus commission on sales
