About the Job

An exciting opportunity has become available. The position involves FIFO work from Perth to a variety of locations. all travel to site, accommodation and meals are supplied, and various rosters are available. You will be required to carry out component repairs, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on modern VOLVO, SCANIA Cab Chassis, High-quality explosive manufacturing equipment, a variety of other light vehicles and ancillary equipment.

Qualifications & experience

• Trade Cert or Engineering Cert as a Diesel Mechanic 
• Blasting/explosives/mining desirable
• Unrestricted HR license desirable
• Practical understanding of mechanical equipment & plant used in the transfer and handling of various products such as telehandlers and mobile augers.
• Strong safety focus
• DGSC Required

Tasks & responsibilities

• Schedule servicing, maintenance & breakdown response
• Know and understand relevant procedures, policy’s.
• Carry out investigations and provide feedback on possible repairs/solutions.
• Be willing to undertake training specific to the explosives industry.
• Work onsite and in workshop
• Be able/willing to fly/drive to sites across Western Australia
• Pass Medicals and drug & alcohol test for site access
• Scania/Volvo/ Merc chassis experience desirable.
• PLC exposure desirable
