About The Role
As a Business Development Manager, your role is to equip our Third-Party Advisers (TPAs) with the right knowledge and capability to effectively advise on our products to their network and help them grow their KiwiSaver business.
You will also play an important role in growing the TPA network and ensuring that Generate is well-positioned amongst our TPA’s.
Your day-to-day will look something like this:
- Grow the third-party adviser network through business development activity, including proactive identification and engagement with new and existing third-party advisers, businesses and other representative groups.
- Provide product and sales training programmes with Advisers, ensuring an understanding of our products, in order to provide advice.
- Identify the needs of the distribution network, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to effectively grow their business with us.
- Actively represent Generate at conferences & events throughout New Zealand.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify industry trends, evolving market dynamics, and potential opportunities.
- Collaborate with Marketing and other internal stakeholders to develop effective strategies that promote our services through distribution channels.

The skills and experience that will help you succeed:
- Previous experience as a Business Development Manager, Relationship Manager or Sales Executive within Financial Services or a corporate environment.
- Professional background working with Advisers, third party channels or Distribution partners.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding measurable outcomes, including actively seeking new opportunities.
- Ability to travel when needed and as per your own allocated regions and areas.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach and inspire others towards achieving common goals.
- Strong communication and presentation skills to build rapport with Advisers, resolve queries, and provide targeted training.
- High levels of emotional intelligence to understand other’s needs and motivations and actively seek solutions to enhance their experience.
- Flexibility to adapt to change and find innovative solutions.
