Do you enjoy working in a busy kitchen, keeping things organised and being part of a team that makes people feel welcome?  The Great Aussie Bush Camp is seeking a motivated and reliable Catering Assistant to support our kitchen and dining operations at our Tea Gardens Centre.

If you like variety, teamwork and hands‑on work, this could be the role for you.

Hours

Monday to Thursday 3.30 pm to 7.30/8.00 pm

About the role

As a Catering Assistant, you’ll support the preparation and delivery of meals, assist with service, and help keep our kitchen and dining areas clean, organised and running smoothly. You’ll work closely with cooks and catering colleagues to create positive dining experiences for students, staff and guests.

This is a practical, active role where no two shifts are the same and every contribution makes a difference.

What you’ll be doing

  • Assisting with food preparation and basic cooking tasks
  • Supporting meal service in a friendly and efficient way
  • Maintaining clean and welcoming dining areas
  • Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils and equipment
  • Helping with setup, pack‑down and resetting service areas
  • Following food safety, hygiene and dietary requirements
  • Working as part of a supportive, collaborative team

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in catering, hospitality or food service (or a willingness to learn)

  • Good time management and attention to cleanliness
  • An understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
