Summary:

The Business Development Associate plays a crucial role in driving growth and expanding our client base within the IT sector. Based in Brisbane, Queensland, this permanent full-time position involves identifying new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance our service offerings. The ideal candidate will contribute to the overall success of the organisation by leveraging their skills in market analysis and client engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with prospective and existing clients.
  • Identify new business opportunities through market research, networking, and lead generation activities.
  • Qualify leads and respond to inbound enquiries, converting interest into sales opportunities.
  • Support the sales process by preparing proposals, presentations, quotations, and contracts.
  • Conduct outreach via phone, email, and virtual meetings to engage prospects and customers
  • Manage and update customer information and interactions in the CRM system.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Consulting teams to deliver tailored customer solutions.
  • Provide customers with relevant industry insights and recommendations.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.
  • Attend industry events, webinars, and conferences to promote the business and build networks.
  • Track, analyse, and report on sales performance and key metrics.
  • Support marketing campaigns, events, and other business development initiatives.
  • Assist management and senior staff throughout the consulting and project delivery lifecycle to ensure successful client outcomes.

Pre-requisites:

  • Proven experience in inside sales, telesales, or customer service, ideally within the technology, supply chain, or professional services sectors.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and the Microsoft Office Suite for data management and reporting.
  • Highly self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Knowledge or experience in supply chain management, logistics, or business spend management is highly advantageous.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Knowledge in and experience with our partners IT systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in business development or sales, preferably in the IT industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and addressing client needs.
