About the role
This is a great opportunity for a motivated, committed, and reliable Workshop Leading Hand Mechanic. We are offering this Workshop based role where you will be supervising a team of tradesmen and apprentices on the floor. This role also involves the following, but is not limited to:
• Service and Repair of Forklifts and associated equipment
• Diagnosis and repair of mechanical and electrical systems such as engines, transmissions, and control board, etc.
• Hire fleet preparation
• New equipment preparation
• Hydraulic repairs and rebuilds
• Mentoring of apprentices and other tradesmen
• Job cards and timesheets
What you’ll need to succeed
• A minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a similar role
• Forklift industry experience preferred but not essentinal
• Diesel/Petrol Mechanic, Light or Heavy vehicle trade qualification
• Electrical Test and Tag Licence would be advantageous
• Current manual drivers’ licence
• LPG licence preferred not essential
• Understanding of diesel/petrol engines
• An understanding of hydraulics
• Good communication skills
• Strong commitment to safe work practices
• can do attitude
• Forklift licence preferred but not essential
