About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and self-motivated Grounds & Maintenance Officer to support the delivery of high-quality football facilities across the Wide Bay region.
This role services facilities across Maryborough and the Fraser Coast, and applicants may be based in either location.
Working largely independently and reporting to the Region Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining safe, clean and well-presented venues to support football participation and events.
This is a part-time role (3 days per week) with occasional flexibility required for evening and weekend work.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain playing surfaces, amenities, and surrounding facilities to high standard
- Undertake routine grounds maintenance including line marking, field setup, and goal net installation
- Clean and maintain amenities, ensuring supplies are stocked and facilities are presentable
- Complete minor repairs and general upkeep of buildings, equipment, and infrastructure
- Support seasonal and off-season maintenance activities, including presentation works
- Safely operate and maintain grounds equipment in line with WHS requirements
- Monitor facility conditions and respond promptly to maintenance needs
- Manage equipment, stock levels, and report issues to the Region Manager
- Support broader venue operations, competitions, and program delivery as required
About You
You are hands-on, dependable, and take pride in maintaining high-quality environments. You enjoy working both independently and as part of a team and can manage your time effectively across multiple tasks.
To be successful, you will have:
- Experience in grounds, maintenance, or facilities roles
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Experience (or willingness to learn) line marking and equipment operation
- Ability to perform general maintenance and minor repairs
- Strong attention to detail and presentation standards
- Good communication and basic reporting skills
- Flexibility to support occasional after-hours work
Essential Requirements:
- Valid Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
- Current driver licence and access to a reliable vehicle
Desirable:
- Experience in turf or grass management
- General maintenance or trade experience
- Current First Aid certificate
