Delivering mechanical design solutions and work products in accordance with the project, client and code requirements. 

Division Overview

The Mechanical Engineering Team provides excellence in delivering project services. A team of specialists responsible for mechanical engineering, analysis and designs, calculations and work products, resolving challenges and complex problems and adding value to our clients. This division provides expertise and services in accordance with the following functions:

·  Principal Mechanical Engineer

·  Pipeline Engineers

·  Asset Integrity Engineers

Organisational Overview

Key Responsibilities

Technical Expertise and Quality of Work

·   Responsible for preparing, coordinating, checking and timely delivery of mechanical designs utilising AutoCAD Plant 3D.

·  Develop and deliver automated Isometric Drawings and associated Bill of Materials.

·  Experience detailing vessel, heat exchanger, tank designs.

·  Experience detailing civil and structural designs for pipe/vessel supports.

·  Ability to manage a portfolio of complex projects that may span one or multiple disciplines with multiple project deadlines.

·  Ability to manage Navisworks design review meetings to review piping solutions, clash detection and ensuring fit for purpose solutions.

·  Demonstrate an ability to find efficient and pragmatic solutions while aligning with industry best practices, codes, standards and project objectives.

·   Manage ongoing quality control for work products you are responsible for, along with participation in squad checks and audits then report on and rectify any issues.

·  Properly close out assigned tasks and deliverables, including preparing lessons learned which are suitable for others to benefit from.

·  Participate and support in establishing practices, templates, policies, and tools and ensure these are expanded on and are appropriate for the whole organisation to use (if applicable).

·  Adhere to regulations, codes, standards (familiarity with ASME B31.3, ASME VIII), company and client policies and procedures.

Internal Relationships

·       Display leadership within the project team by motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones;

·       Monitor your performance and complete/support performance reviews as required.

·       Attend meetings and participate as a team member.

·       Communicate effectively and professionally, both verbal and non-verbal;

·       Contribute to your development as a Mechanical Designer.

Client Relationships

·       Build and maintain relationships by supporting teams and clients to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus and achieve objectives.

Continuous Improvement

·       Maintain a path of learning in order to grow skill and knowledge base;

·       Attend conferences and events as required;

·       Participate in training to assist with professional development;

·       Keep up to date with the latest technology, standards and legislative requirements within discipline.

Business Development

·       Continue to demonstrate innovation by identifying opportunities and liaising with the Team leads and Project Managers

·       Contribute to a positive workplace culture and professional company image. 

HSE and QA

·      Work within the policies, Management systems and procedures of Five-D.  Alignment to Five-D core values

Qualifications & Experience

·           Autodesk AutoCAD Plant 3D experience;

·           4-8+ years’ experience in the industry as a Mechanical Designer;

·           Preference given to candidates with additional experience in Autodesk Inventor (or Solidworks)

·           Preference given to candidates with additional experience in Autodesk Civil 3D
