Description
Medical & Emergency Response Services
$150,000 base salary + vehicle allowance + commission plan
National role | Brisbane preferred | QLD, NSW, VIC and NT Territory
Fire & Safety Australia (FSA) is seeking a driven, self-directed Business Development Manager to originate, pursue and win long-term remote medical and emergency response services contracts across Australia’s critical industries.
This is a genuine outbound hunting role, not an account management position, with direct mentoring and support from FSA’s CEO/Founder and General Manager, Medical & Emergency Response Services.
FSA delivers integrated medical, emergency response and security services to mining, oil and gas, infrastructure, manufacturing and construction clients. Our on-site teams include paramedics, nurses, emergency services officers and security officers, supported by FSA vehicles, assets, equipment, an in-house registered training organisation and 24/7 clinical governance.
The opportunity
- Build a national pipeline from a standing start and maintain a 100+ named buyer map.
- Create opportunities through disciplined outbound prospecting, industry networking and face-to-face engagement with procurement, HSE and operational decision-makers.
- Identify incumbent contracts and expiry dates early, positioning FSA to win these.
- Convert qualified opportunities into priced proposals, maintaining three to five live opportunities with a named buyer, budget and decision date.
- Lead mid-band tenders end to end and act as 2IC on major strategic pursuits alongside the CEO and General Manager.
- Present, negotiate and close multi-year service contracts while protecting margin, managing risk and ensuring operational deliverability.
What success looks like
- Sign at least an $3 million in new annual recurring contract value each year, building this by multiples within three years.
- Build and maintain a qualified pipeline.
- Achieve a minimum 40% conversion on qualified, quoted annual contract value.
- Win at least one multi million plus contract and one new-logo client annually.
- Maintain accurate Salesforce activity, market intelligence, next actions and forecasting as the single source of truth for growth reporting.
About you
- 5+ years in business development, sales or work-winning within a business-to-business critical-industry environment.
- A demonstrated record of personally originating and signing multi-year contracts valued at $1 million or more per annum.
- Proven ability to review tender scope of works and construct pricing and responses against these.
- Proven experience running multi million dollar Proposals, tenders and RFTs end to end.
- Strong commercial acumen across margin, cost-to-serve, contract terms, forecasting and pipeline mathematics.
- Disciplined CRM use, ideally Salesforce, with excellent written and verbal communication.
- A current driver’s licence, willingness to travel and ability to meet client site access and medical requirements.
- Experience selling deployed-workforce or site-based services such as medical, emergency response, security, facilities, labour, testing or industrial services is highly regarded.
What we offer
- $150,000 base salary plus vehicle allowance and a commission plan.
- A high-impact national role with direct access to senior decision-makers and strong operational support.
- The opportunity to represent a respected Australian provider with a 19-year track record and a strong market brand.
- Mentoring in FSA’s sales and bid methodology, with a pathway to grow into a senior MERS sales role.
- The chance to win work that directly improves safety outcomes in high-risk industries across Australia.
Location and travel
Brisbane is preferred, although other East Coast locations will be considered. The role covers Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and the Northern Territory and is expected to involve approximately three to five nights away each month.
Why join FSA?
