About the role
FGI Mining is seeking an experienced Resource Geologist for a site-based position in Northwest QLD. The role will lead geological studies and assessments across FGI Mining’s known resources, develop geological plans and exploration programs, and oversee geological documentation and data management across FGI leases and mining assets.
This position will play an important role in providing clear, reliable geological data and supporting strategic planning, exploration and future resource development.
Key responsibilities
- Lead geological studies and assessments of FGI Mining’s known resources
- Develop geological plans and identify exploration and drilling requirements
- Oversee geological documentation, data protocols and reporting
- Establish clear geological data management and reporting pathways across FGI leases and mining assets
- Lead geological teams, contractors and external consultants as required
- Prepare geological studies and reports to support strategic planning
- Provide geological information to support business planning
- Maintain accurate and reliable geological records and data
- Work closely with FGI staff, contractors and other stakeholders to achieve operational objectives
What we’re looking for
- A tertiary qualification in Geology or a related discipline
- Experience in mining or a similar industry with a geological focus
- Strong experience conducting geological studies and assessments
- Experience leading geological teams and contractors
- Strong report writing and technical documentation skills
- Experience preparing geological studies to support strategic planning
- Strong understanding of geological data management and protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within the broader FGI Mining group
- Ability to lead FGI staff and contractors effectively
