About the role
FGI Mining is seeking an experienced Operational Readiness Manager for a site-based role in Northwest QLD, with travel to Cairns. The position will lead key mine start-up activities, including camp establishment, site services, contractor management, equipment procurement and mobilisation, and site infrastructure.
Key responsibilities
- Lead mine-site start-up and operational readiness activities
- Oversee camp construction and establishment of site services
- Manage contractors involved in plant audits and mining studies
- Coordinate equipment purchasing, mobilisation and site establishment
- Oversee infrastructure including workshops, roads and water services
- Provide technical and operational reporting
- Lead FGI staff and contractors to achieve project requirements
- Develop organisational structures, programs and procedures as required
- Build strong working relationships with contractors and stakeholders
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience in operational readiness, mine start-up or mining mobilisation
- SSE accreditation or ability to obtain SSE accreditation
- Strong mine-site logistics and start-up experience
- Strong technical, reporting and contractor management skills
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead FGI staff and contractors effectively
- Ability to work collaboratively within a broader company environment
