Health, Safety, Environment Training and Compliance (HSETC) Manager

About the role

FGI Developments is seeking an experienced Health, Safety, Environment Training and Compliance (HSETC) Manager for predominantly site-based role in Northwest QLD with travel to Cairns. The position will be responsible for establishing and managing the site’s HSEC systems, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and supporting a strong health, safety and environmental culture across the operation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the site’s HSETC function and compliance requirements
• Establish and maintain comprehensive mine-site HSETC documentation and operational systems
• Ensure compliance with relevant State Acts, Regulations and mining requirements
• Support mine start-up and ongoing operational HSETC requirements
• Develop health programs supporting the physical and mental wellbeing of staff
• Lead and develop a motivated HSETC team
• Monitor HSETC performance and provide reporting to management
• Work closely with FGI staff, contractors and other stakeholders to maintain HSETC standards
• Promote a strong safety, environmental and compliance culture across the site

·Lead site safety compliance, competency frameworks and training programs, ensuring ongoing compliance with relevant resources legislation and maintaining high standards of safety and operational readiness.

What we’re looking for

• Cert IV or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of relevant State Acts and Regulations
• SSE qualification/accreditation or ability to obtain
• Comprehensive understanding of mine-site HSETC compliance
• Experience in mine-site start-up and operational environments
• Experience developing and implementing HSETC systems and documentation
• Strong leadership and team-building skills
• Ability to develop effective health and wellbeing programs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within the broader FGI group
