About the role

FGI Mining is seeking a qualified Boilermaker for a site-based position in Northwestern QLD. The role will be responsible for carrying out boiler making, fabrication and maintenance tasks safely and efficiently, supporting the reliable operation of mining equipment and fixed plant.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out boiler making and fabrication tasks safely and efficiently
• Perform repairs, maintenance and fabrication work on mine-site equipment and fixed plant
• Identify and report structural, fabrication and maintenance requirements
• Assist with planned and preventative maintenance activities
• Follow site safety procedures, welding standards and work instructions
• Complete work to required quality and safety standards
• Work collaboratively with FGI staff, contractors and other maintenance personnel
• Maintain a high standard of workmanship and housekeeping

What we’re looking for

• Trade-qualified Boilermaker
• Previous experience working with mine-site fixed plant
• Strong fabrication, welding and maintenance skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Commitment to safe work practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work within FGI’s company culture and the broader FGI Mining group
