About Us 

Feramex is a Melbourne-based sheet metal manufacturer supplying roofing and architectural cladding products to the construction industry across Victoria. Based in Tullamarine, we operate a modern, fast-paced manufacturing facility and are looking for reliable, motivated people to join our team as we continue to strengthen our production capability.

 

About the Role 

As a Production Operator, you will be part of our team manufacturing and preparing high-quality sheet metal products for our customers. 

This is a hands-on role where you will learn to operate a range of specialised machinery, work with different products and develop practical manufacturing skills. There is plenty to learn and master, with opportunities to take on greater responsibility as your skills and experience develop. You will work as part of a team to meet daily production targets while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Read and follow production orders to meet daily schedules 
  • Set up and operate sheet-metal machinery to manufacture products to specification 
  • Check finished products to ensure quality standards are met 
  • Safely handle, pack and prepare finished products for storage and dispatch 
  • Keep work areas clean, safe and organised 
  • Follow all workplace health and safety procedures at all times 

 

About You 

Essential 

  • Reliable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude 
  • Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on,  manual work 
  • Able to follow instructions, communicate clearly and work effectively as part of a team 
  • Good attention to detail 
  • Basic computer/data entry skills 

 

Highly Regarded 

  • Forklift licence 
  • Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience 
  • Experience working with sheet metal or similar products 

Previous manufacturing experience is not essential. Full training will be provided to suitable candidates with the right attitude and willingness to learn.
