About your role (2 year contract)
The AI Enablement & Transformation Lead brings together people, technology and operations to help the organisation run effectively behind the scenes while improving employee, member and stakeholder experiences.
The role is responsible for identifying and implementing practical AI, automation and digital productivity opportunities that enhance operational efficiency, improve service delivery, strengthen organisational capability and support innovation across ESSA. Working across all business units, the role partners with leaders and teams to improve workflows, optimise systems, uplift data capability and drive sustainable transformation initiatives that align with ESSA’s strategic priorities.
This role is ‘on the tools’ and suited to someone who is AI native, commercially minded and comfortable building solutions rather than relying solely on vendors. It plays a key role in supporting future-focused innovation by implementing AI-enabled solutions, workflows and new service offerings that enhance value for members and stakeholders.
What you’ll do
- Develop and implement AI use cases, workflows and automation opportunities that enhance operational efficiency and organisational performance
- Identify and pilot AI-enabled solutions that improve employee productivity, member engagement and service delivery
- Support the implementation of AI-driven innovations and new offerings for members and stakeholders
- Coordinate the intake, prioritisation, piloting and scaling of AI initiatives across the organisation
- Monitor emerging technologies and assess opportunities relevant to the future of ESSA, its members and the broader industry
- Partner with leaders, employees and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, improve operational effectiveness and support implementation activities
- Facilitate workshops, idea generation sessions and innovation activities across the organisation
- Act as a key internal advisor and advocate for practical AI and digital transformation opportunities
- Collaborate with external vendors, consultants and technology providers where required
- Prepare reports, insights and recommendations for Executive Leadership Team and governance forums as required
- Support the ongoing optimisation, governance and effective utilisation of ESSA’s CRM and operational systems, including iMIS
- Work collaboratively with business units to improve system adoption, reporting capability, data quality and operational insights
- Identify opportunities to better connect systems, data and workflows to improve decision-making and service delivery
- Support data governance, stewardship and continuous improvement initiatives across organisational systems
Your competitive edge will include:
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Technology, Innovation or a related discipline
- Experience supporting digital transformation, AI, automation and/or continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong understanding of AI technologies and digital productivity tools including practical capability to implement
- Hands-on and solutions focused with the ability to create and test solutions in – house
- Interest in emerging technologies, AI and innovation trends
