Casual Social Work Field Education Liaison Officer

 About the Role

Primary responsibilities include:

• To provide general oversight of the field education placement for specific students undertaking their social work field education placements.
• To consult with the Field Education Coordinator, Field Educator, and student/s about placement structure, learning goals and assessment processes.
• To provide support for students undertaking field education components of study which evaluates students’ ability to integrate theory and practice, critically reflect, understand and respond to diverse needs and situations within the placement setting.

Selection Criteria

Qualifications and Professional Standing:

• Field Educators must be eligible for full membership of the AASW.
• A minimum five years full-time post-qualifying practice experience.
• Experience in a higher education setting (or equivalent) would be an advantage.

Essential:

• Respect the Christian mission of Excelsia University College.
• An understanding of current and emerging trends in Social Work.
• Technological literacy in a wide range of desktop applications to support reporting and analysis role requirements.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate and work effectively and cooperatively with colleagues from diverse cultural, religious, gender and socio-economic backgrounds.
• Proven organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
• Full Australian Working Rights.
