Your new role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Assistant to support a Senior Partner and several lawyers in our Commercial Litigation team. This permanent, full-time position is crucial for supporting our legal professionals in delivering exceptional legal services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of legal procedures and documentation, ensuring the smooth operation of our legal department and contributing to the overall success of our firm.

Your variety of work will include:

  • Work collaboratively with legal practitioners including Senior Partner to provide comprehensive administrative support
  • Liaise with clients/barristers/lawyers via phone, letter, email and in-person
  • Draft, proofread and file legal documents and correspondence
  • Manage daily meetings and travel
  • Matter management including setting up files, conflict checks and due diligence procedures
  • End of month billing, including invoice preparation and file closures
  • Develop case briefs, synopses, depositions, contracts, presentations and other formatted documents
  • Plan and organise client and team events

You will bring to the role:

  • 3 – 5 years experience with administrative support to Partners/Executives within legal services is desirable
  • Knowledge of law, regulations and court system
  • Exceptional communication and client service
  • Proactive approach and initiative
  • Confidence with a range of technology and in learning new systems
  • Strong time management, planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and lead a team
  • Experience using practice management system (Leap highly regarded)
  • Experience using Qcase, Commcourts, and Citec highly regarded
