Yard Person

Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Yard Person to join our manufacturing team in Smeaton, Victoria. This permanent, full-time role is essential for maintaining the efficiency of our production operations. The Yard Person will be responsible for managing materials and ensuring a safe and organised yard environment, contributing to the overall success of our manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the loading and unloading of materials and products in the yard.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the yard area.
• Conduct regular inspections of yard equipment and report any issues.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Support the production team by providing materials as needed.
• Record inventory levels and assist with stock management.

Qualifications and key selection criteria:

• No formal education required; however, a basic understanding of manufacturing processes and being mechanically minded is advantageous.
• Entry-level experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Good communication skills and a proactive attitude.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks.
• Forklift license, working at heights ticket, and confined space ticket is preferred but not essential (as relevant training can be provided).
• Demonstrate organisational values of Passion, Honesty, Accountability and Boldness.
• Be physically capable of working in a manufacturing environment involving frequent stair climbing and extended periods of standing and walking.
• Be able to safely work in dusty environments while following required safety controls and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
