Westug Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of Engage Marine, provides marine support services in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. 

Engage Marine is an Australian port operations provider delivering specialised marine services to a range of industries. Headquartered in Perth, the company operates nationally with operational bases including Sydney, Geelong, Port Latta, Whyalla, Carnarvon and Far North Queensland. 

This is a residential-only position. Applicants must reside in the greater Karratha area or be willing to relocate.

About the Role

Westug is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Purchasing/Stores Officer for a permanent full-time (38 FTE) role to work out of our Dampier and Cape Lambert Offices. The role will work closely with the Purchasing Lead, Tug Crews, Maintenance Staff and management to ensure efficient and effective delivery of our Port Services Contract with Rio Tinto. 

This full-time role will work a 9-day fortnight roster however those seeking part-time or flexible work arrangements are encouraged to apply. 

The Purchasing /Stores Officer will be supporting the purchasing function in an efficient and effective manner & maintaining and running warehouse facilities.

Some key accountabilities of the role include but are not limited to: 

• Issue purchase orders in accordance with approved requisition and purchasing policy
• Supplier account setup, Supplier invoice processing, receipting of goods inwards & accurate part allocation
• Freight preparation and bookings, unloading of transport vehicles.
• Warehouse/Vessel Parts management (Creation, allocation, transfers etc)
• RTIO SAP Ordering – Oil, lubes etc.  
• Collection and delivery of parts and consumables to the workplace where required.
• Liaising with suppliers to ensure contract obligations are met including monitoring orders and communicating status to relevant parties. 
• Prepare and maintain stock lists of equipment, consumables & critical spares (Including stocktaking across ports).
• Supporting the Maintenance Supervisor, Planner & Purchasing Lead to deliver high levels of maintenance schedule compliance.
• Provide support/relief to the Purchasing Lead and other Ad-Hoc duties as required.
• Maintaining warehouse facilities in an efficient and effective manner in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Forklift operations

Qualifications & Experience

• Forklift ticket and a Heavy Rigid licence are highly desirable.
• C Class Driver’s License required.
• Attention to detail and accurate data entry skills are essential.
• Experience in storekeeping procedures is essential. 
• Experience with invoice processing & receipting of goods inward is essential. 
• Experience in the storage and issuance of chemicals and associated safety requirements (e.g. storage requirements, compatibility and Safety Data Sheets (SDS). 
• Experience with SAP – RTIO database favourable.
