Once the migration is done, you’ll own the secure, reliable running of our cloud, network, security and backup environment.

Energy Bay prides itself on providing sustainable energy solutions to our customers. As a growing company with big dreams, we offer an exceptional working environment where you can expand your experience and be part of a meaningful mission to create a greener and cleaner future.

Our Vision: To be Australia’s most trusted partner in integrating distributed energy resources infrastructure and enabling sustainable progress towards the clean energy future.

Our Values: Zero Harm | Enduring Solutions | Customer Driven | Trusted Partner

As the Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will:

  • Scope, plan and deliver the infrastructure program: the on-prem to Azure migration, the Azure-to-Azure consolidation, and the domain and identity move to Entra ID
  • Own project plans, timelines, risks and dependencies, and report progress to the Head of IT
  • Build and maintain the Azure landing zone using infrastructure as code, giving the SQL and Fabric data platform its networking and security foundation
  • Coordinate cutovers with the Senior Database Administrator and Dev team with minimal disruption
  • Transition services from the current managed service provider and decommission them on schedule
  • Run firewalls, VPN and connectivity across offices, sites and the cloud
  • Harden server and infrastructure security and patching in line with our cyber controls
  • Own server and platform backup and disaster recovery, and maintain and test DR plans
  • Respond to and document incidents
  • Own infrastructure monitoring, capacity and Azure cost reporting
  • Keep documentation, runbooks and network diagrams current
  • Follow change control, record every change in the IT change log, and support governance of bespoke internal tools and services

You will be successful in the role if you possess:

  • Bachelors in IT, Computer Science or a related field
  • 5+ years in infrastructure engineering, including at least one on-prem to Azure migration delivered end to end, with the domain and identity move to Entra ID
  • Strong Azure skills: landing zones, IaaS, networking and infrastructure as code (Bicep or Terraform)
  • Solid network and security experience: firewalls, VPN, site connectivity, endpoint protection, backup and disaster recovery
  • Hands-on with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune and PowerShell
  • AZ-104 certification (required); AZ-305 or AZ-700 desirable
  • Manages vendors well and works closely with developers and data staff
  • Takes ownership, documents as they go, and stays calm and methodical during cutovers and incidents (energy or utilities experience is a plus)
  • Strong experience within the electricity or energy industry, with deep exposure to wholesale market environments

You’ll love working here because:

  • We believe in responsibility and reward you for taking initiative
  • We’re a successful, fast-growing company with an entrepreneurial vibe
  • Comprehensive training and mentorship from experienced professionals
  • New office location, with stunning panoramic views, close to Burnley train station
