Multipurpose Drillers

Durock Drilling is chasing experienced Multipurpose Drillers to join our team.

If you have experience with Diamond Drilling and/or Reverse Circulation, take ownership of the rig, crew and performance, we want to hear from you!

This is a FIFO role working across remote exploration and mine-site locations throughout Australia.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain drill rigs in line with company and site procedures
• Mobilise and Demobilise drilling equipment
• Deliver safe, efficient, and productive drilling
• Accurately complete daily drilling reports, logs, and safety documentation
• Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance to minimise downtime
• Lead, support, and coordinate Driller’s Assistants and Trainee Drillers
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues in the field and resolve them efficiently
• Monitor consumables and manage stock levels on site
• Comply with all site safety, environmental, and operational requirements
• Assist with training and mentoring of less experienced crew members

• Demonstrated experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and remote environments
• Capability to lead a small crew under pressure
• Clear and effective communication skills (verbal and written)
• Strong understanding of drilling operations, safety standards, and field logistics
• Commitment to maintaining accurate drilling records and reports
• A strong safety-first attitude

Mandatory Requirements

• Certificate III in Drilling Operations
• Current HR (Heavy Rigid) Licence
• National Police Check (issued within the last 3 months)
• Applicants MUST be physically fit and will be are required to pass a pre-employment medical and regular drug and alcohol screening.
