About the Role

Dorsett Melbourne is currently seeking a Commis Chef to join the professional and dynamic kitchen team on a full-time basis. This role will report to the Head Chef, with responsibilities including overseeing the smooth running of the day-to day operation within the Kitchen.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Preparing all items for service and organising mise en place
  • Ensuring the breakfast buffet is maintained during service
  • Cooking any a la carte items in a timely manner to the highest standards
  • Keep all working areas clean and tidy and ensure no cross contaminating
  • Assist other departments or areas of the kitchen wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships
  • Be environmentally aware, and practice safe work and handling.
