Description

Are you passionate about helping people protect what matters most? Do you enjoy building trusted relationships and delivering advice that genuinely makes a difference?

At Donaldson Brown, we’ve turned Insurance broking on its head and created a brand that our clients trust – so much so, we’re proud to be one of New Zealand’s largest 100% kiwi-owned and operated brokerage. Our secret sauce? It’s a blend of client-centricity, a focus on risk and advisory rather than simply insurance broking, and a transparent fee structure which make our teams truly thrive.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Domestic Risk Adviser to join our team. If you’re client-focused, thrive in a relationship driven environment and enjoy providing tailored insurance solutions, we’d love to hear from you.

A glimpse at what you’ll be doing:

  • Manage and grow an existing portfolio of domestic insurance clients
  • Build strong, long term relationships with new and existing clients
  • Prepare and present insurance programme proposals and renewal recommendations
  • Deliver a consistently high standard of client service and professionalism
  • Maintain debtor control
  • Building and maintaining relationships with insurers and stakeholders
  • Keep up to date with insurance products, market trends and industry developments
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, policies and procedures
  • Mentor and develop Associate Risk Advisers and junior members of the team
  • Collaborate with other risk advisers on accounts

To thrive in this role, you will:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years Domestic insurance and risk advisory experience, preferably with mid-sized or large client accounts
  • Hold certification in Financial Services (Level 5)
  • Enjoy a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and be curious with a desire to grow
  • Display initiative, be proactive and a natural problem solver
  • Be an expert communicator and able to work collaboratively

Why you’ll love working with us

We’re a tight-knit team that values flexibility, energy, and people who want to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in. We offer:

  • A flexible working environment
  • Continuing development with an opportunity for progression
  • A strong, people focused team culture
  • Extra leave at Christmas
  • A genuine focus on health & wellbeing
