As a Senior Test Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring software quality and reliability, working with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to drive automation-first testing strategies.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop & Maintain Test Automation Frameworks – Design, implement, and optimize robust test automation frameworks using Java & Cucumber BDD. Ensure scalability, reusability, and maintainability of automation scripts, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation.
- Review & Optimize Unit Test Results – Analyze and refine unit test coverage, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement. Work closely with developers to enhance test efficiency, maintain test automation scripts, and ensure adherence to best practices in test-driven development (TDD) and behavior-driven development (BDD)
- Manage Test Processes & Reporting – Utilize test management tools such as TestRail, ALM, X-Ray, and Jira to plan, track, and document test cases, defects, and execution results. Ensure clear traceability between requirements and test coverage, maintaining comprehensive test documentation for audits and compliance.
- Collaborate & Communicate with Stakeholders – Act as a key liaison between development, QA, business analysts, and external teams to align testing strategies with business goals. Facilitate defect triage meetings, provide clear reporting on test progress, and advocate for quality at every stage of the SDLC.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven Experience in Automation Testing using Java & Cucumber BDD – Strong expertise in developing, executing, and maintaining automation test scripts using Java, Selenium, and Cucumber BDD.
- Experience integrating automation frameworks with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps) to ensure seamless test execution.
- Hands-on experience with API testing using tools like RestAssured, Postman, or SoapUI.
- Strong Knowledge of Test Management Tools – Proficiency in industry-leading test management platforms such as TestRail, ALM (Application Lifecycle Management), X-Ray, and Jira for planning, tracking, and reporting test coverage, defects, and execution results. Familiarity with Zephyr or qTest is a plus.
- Ability to Review and Maintain Automation Scripts Effectively – Skilled in debugging, refactoring, and optimizing automation scripts to improve execution efficiency and reduce flakiness. Familiarity with version control systems (Git, Bitbucket) and best practices for maintaining automation repositories. Understanding of mocking and stubbing techniques for stable test environments.
- Excellent Communication Skills for Stakeholder Engagement – Ability to translate technical testing concepts into business-friendly language. Comfortable collaborating with developers, product owners, business analysts, and external vendors to define quality standards, report defects effectively, and ensure alignment between testing efforts and business goals.
- Passion for Quality Engineering and Driving Best Practices – Advocate for shift-left testing principles, test-driven development (TDD), and behavior-driven development (BDD) methodologies. Experience in performance testing (JMeter, Gatling, or LoadRunner) and security testing is a plus. Strong understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and participation in Agile ceremonies to enhance testing efficiency
