Description

Complex projects. Real exposure. Your launchpad into project delivery.

  • Your way into project delivery: real exposure across the commercial, operational and delivery sides of our projects, with a clear pathway to Project Engineer and or a Project Manager.
  • Genuinely complex work: help keep high-profile demolition, decommissioning and remediation projects running smoothly across major commercial and industrial sites.
  • Yatala based, close to home: a head-office role with occasional site visits, working alongside experienced project teams.

At DEMEX, we’ve earned global recognition for the delivery of high-profile, high-complexity demolition, remediation, decommissioning and resource recovery works on major commercial and industrial projects across the energy, resources, government, infrastructure and marine sectors. We’re looking for an organised, driven Project Coordinator ready to keep our projects running smoothly behind the scenes, whilst creating your long-term career in project delivery.

About the role

As Project Coordinator, you’ll be the organisational engine behind our project teams; coordinating project administration, documentation, reporting, procurement and stakeholder communication to keep projects accurate, current and moving. Working alongside Project Managers, Engineers and Supervisors, you’ll make sure the right information gets to the right people at the right time.

It’s a role built for someone who’s organised, detail-focused and eager to learn; and it’s a genuine development gateway. You’ll gain exposure across the commercial, operational and delivery sides of our projects, and build toward Project Engineer and Project Manager roles.

You’ll bring strong organisation, clear, accurate communication and a can-do attitude to help our projects run efficiently and on schedule.

What you’ll be doing

  • Create safe & healthy workplaces: support HSEQ and compliance requirements and help keep safety front of mind across our projects.
  • Keep projects organised: coordinate project administration, action tracking and information flow, schedule meetings, and maintain project registers, trackers and filing systems.
  • Own the documentation & reporting: prepare project reports, meeting minutes and correspondence, maintain document control, and compile and distribute project information.
  • Support procurement & contracts: raise purchase orders, help onboard subcontractors and suppliers, and maintain contract registers, variation logs and procurement records.
  • Support cost & invoicing: collect and verify cost information, timesheets and supplier documentation, prepare client invoicing support, and maintain cost trackers and invoice registers.
  • Coordinate stakeholders & clients: build positive relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers, coordinate meetings and communications, and represent DEMEX professionally.
  • Support site & operations: coordinate site documentation, permits and inductions, assist with mobilisation and site visits, and follow up outstanding actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement: spot ways to improve project administration and processes, support lessons-learned and close-out, and keep building your project-delivery knowledge.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in project coordination, construction administration, site engineering, contract administration or a similar role – ideally within the Demolitions sector.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Current Driver’s Licence.

Nice to have:  Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management or related discipline · experience in demolition, civil, remediation or infrastructure projects · understanding of project budgeting, forecasting and contract administration · Construction Industry White Card · First Aid certificate · experience with project management software and business systems (ASANA and B2W advantageous).
