A Communications Director (aligned to Account Director) at DEC is a senior agency position, spanning client and team management, as well as helping drive the Agency’s growth agenda. The Communications Director is the lynchpin between client needs and client outcomes, leading the delivery of integrated communications strategies, in close collaboration with and reporting to the Group Client Director.
The successful candidate will combine best-in-class communications craftsmanship with strong commercial management to achieve client retention, satisfaction and profitability. At DEC, all senior team members are hands-on in the delivery of client programs.
Your key responsibilities will include:
– Delivering successful integrated communications programs, ensuring strategy, creativity, implementation and measurement align with client objectives
– Shaping strategy, leading client execution, implementation and account direction, collaborating closely with and reporting to the Group Client Director
– Establishing and maintaining strong and influential relationships with clients’ senior executives and related stakeholders and networks
– Identifying strategic opportunities, threats, issues and trends, translating contextual intelligence and insights into actionable counsel
– Ensuring all activity is high quality, impactful, meets agreed performance metrics and evaluated using advanced measurement approaches
– Achieving client satisfaction, retention and organic growth while managing scope, resourcing, revenue in line with agency targets
– Leading, motivating and developing high-performing account teams, setting clear standards for quality, productivity, collaboration and morale
– Leading confidently through complex issues and crisis situations, collaborating with the Agency’s senior team and leadership and specialist teams as required
– Collaborate closely with the Agency’s partners to deliver seamless client experience
Must have experience:
– 8+ years’ agency experience, or equivalent senior communications experience
– Proven success on large, fast-paced clients and multidisciplinary teams
– Strong track record providing valued counsel, shaping strategy and delivering high-impact communications outcomes
– Corporate, technology, consumer or culturally-led brand experience preferred, with issues and crisis experience highly valued
– Advanced understanding of communications and marketing practice, media, KOLs, creator and digital landscapes, research and measurement
– Excellent commercial and financial management, leadership, negotiation, influence and senior stakeholder management skills
