Are you a passionate educator ready to inspire, mentor and lead OR would you prefer to run our Bush Kindy Program and facilitate outdoor learning experiences for children on & off-site in natural environments? At Curiosity Tree, we’re looking for an Educational Leader & a Bush Kindy Leader (or someone interested in both) to join our dedicated team and guide the delivery of exceptional early childhood education.

As our Educational Leader or Bush Kindy Leader, you’ll play a key role in guiding our team’s practice and ensuring every child’s learning journey is exceptional.

Responsibilities:

  • Education leader: Lead, mentor, and inspire educators in delivering engaging, play-based learning programs.
  • Bush Kindy leader: Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of the service’s Nature Play and Bush Kindy programs.

  • Work directly in classrooms to mentor practice and support programming hands-on.
  • Manage non-contact time to guide, plan, and reflect with educators.
  • Ensure our educational practices align with the National Quality Framework (NQF), Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG).
  • Collaborate closely with the Centre Manager to identify and support areas of need across the service.
  • Contribute to educational programs via Storypark and/or Bush Kindy display books, completing a full daily planning cycle (learning stories, lesson plans, reflections) for each group attending.
  • Drive continuous improvement through Quality Improvement Planning and reflective practice.
  • Advocate for children’s rights and wellbeing while fostering inclusive, supportive environments.
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with families and encourage their involvement in the learning journey.
  • Collaborate with the Centre Manager and team to maintain a culture of excellence.

About You:

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood/ECT).
  • Someone who is creative and can create experiences and learning activities which stimulate imaginations and drive curiosity in young minds.
  • Current Blue Card/Exemption Card, First Aid (incl. Asthma/Anaphylaxis), CPR, and Child Protection Training.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, coach, and inspire a team.
  • Deep knowledge of the NQF, EYLF, and QKLG with the ability to translate theory into practice.
  • Proven ability to support educators both in-classroom and through reflective non-contact mentoring.
  • A warm, approachable leader who thrives on collaboration and innovation.
  • Physically fit for the demands of the role, including working outdoors in the heat, standing for long periods, safely bending, lifting and carrying children and their equipment/toys, and responding quickly in an emergency
