At Contemporary Plumbing, we’re looking for a motivated Junior Estimator to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to build a long-term career in estimating, project delivery and commercial construction.
Working alongside our experienced Estimators and Project Managers, you’ll receive hands-on training while contributing to some of Canberra’s most exciting commercial projects.

The Role
This is a varied position where no two days are the same.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the preparation of commercial plumbing estimates and tenders.
- Measuring quantities from construction drawings and specifications.
- Requesting and comparing supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Preparing pricing schedules and tender documentation.
- Working closely with our Estimators to ensure accurate and competitive submissions.
- Assisting our Supervisors with sourcing and procuring Prime Cost items from suppliers.
- Liaising with suppliers to obtain pricing, lead times and technical information.
- Maintaining supplier relationships and procurement records.
- Supporting project teams with material selections and purchasing requirements.
- General administrative support for the estimating and project delivery teams.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has excellent attention to detail.
- Is highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks.
- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Enjoys problem solving and working with numbers.
- Is confident using Microsoft Office, Estimating and Takeoff software
- Is eager to learn and develop new skills.
- Can work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team.
Experience within construction, plumbing, estimating or procurement is advantageous, but not essential. We value attitude, work ethic and willingness to learn above all else.
