About the role

The Property Officer is responsible for managing property condition, vacant works, property inspections, reporting, works scopes, and inspection activity across CEHL properties. The role asses and documents works required, maintains accurate property information in SBM, participates in co-operative asset plans and maintenance plans, and then hands approved work requirements to Procurement / Purchasing supplier allocation. The Property Officer will then inspect works to ensure they are completed safely, appropriately and to the required quality standard.

About you

You have experience working in a relevant trade, building, property, construction, residential maintenance, vacant work or renewal works environment. You bring experience in inspecting residential properties, identifying maintenance, vacant works and renewal needs and accurately recording condition data. Your experience in preparing scopes of work, documenting site requirement and a keen eye for assessing completion and variation works will set you apart. You are committed to delivering safe, compliant and high-quality asset services that support positive renter outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A drivers licence as the work will cover a geographic region.
  • Experience working in a relevant trade or environment.
  • Sound working knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act, Occupational Health, Safety legislation, and Privacy legislation.
  • Experience preparing scopes of work.
  • Proven customer service skills and a friendly professional manner.
  • Strong administrative, reporting, record keeping, time management and numerous skills
  • Ability to arrange inspections directly with renters and / or co-operatives and communicate access requirements clearly and respectfully.
  • Ability to support investigations and complaints relating to works or inspections with accurate records, balanced judgement and practical resolution options
  • The ability to quickly learn and confidently use IT systems.
  • Friendly, approachable, and professional manner when engaging with members, co-operatives, colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • The desire to work as part of team to deliver great outcomes for our tenants.
