Description

Team Leader – HVAC Service

Commercial Air Conditioning Pty Ltd | Warriewood, NSW | Full Time | Wage (negotiable DOE)

YOUR NEXT STEP — FROM SENIOR TECH TO TEAM LEADER

Are you a highly experienced commercial HVAC technician who’s ready to take the next step in your

career? This role is designed for exactly that — a senior professional with strong technical

foundations who’s ready to step into a leadership position and grow with us.

This isn’t a role where you’ll be pushed into management and left to figure it out. You’ll move

into the Team Leader position with the full support of our experienced management team behind you, taking on responsibility at a pace that sets you up for success. You’ll continue doing work you’re good at —hands-on commercial HVAC — while building the leadership and commercial skills that will define the next stage of your career.

Commercial Air Conditioning has been a privately owned industry leader since 1993. We work across

some of the most technically demanding systems in the industry: magnetic bearing chillers, data

centres, large central plant, shopping centres, office towers, and clubs. This is a company where

your expertise is respected and your development is taken seriously.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

A genuine step up — real leadership responsibility, involvement in quoting and service planning, and a valued voice in service team meetings.

• Wage negotiable depending on experience — we’re genuinely open to discussing the right

rate for the right person

• Company vehicle with fuel card and e-tag — no out-of-pocket running costs

• Mobile phone provided

• Uniforms and PPE fully supplied

• Overtime available

• A genuine step up — real leadership responsibility, involvement in quoting and service planning,

and a seat at the table in service team meetings

• Full support from management as you transition into the role — you won’t be thrown in the deep

end

• Positive, collaborative team culture with regular team-building days

• Long-term stability backed by a large portfolio of loyal, long-standing clients

THE ROLE

Provide guidance and technical support to team members to resolve complex issues.

As Team Leader you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day performance and wellbeing of a team of four

qualified technicians and two to four apprentices, covering commercial HVAC service work across

Sydney to Newcastle.

On the people side, you’ll allocate and prioritise work across your team, make sure jobs are

completed on time and to standard, support your apprentices’ development, and act as the first point of escalation when your team hits a technical challenge they need help working through.

On the commercial side, you’ll attend sites to scope and quote repairs and maintenance work,

prepare quotes for management review, and provide input into service strategy through regular team meetings with the broader service leadership group. You’ll be a key link between what’s happening on the tools and what gets planned, priced, and communicated to clients.

Demonstrated experience informally leading, supervising, or mentoring others on the tools.

visibility, and more influence over how your team’s work gets done.

Proficiency in scoping and quoting service and repair work, or a strong willingness to rapidly develop this skill with support.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You don’t need to have held a formal leadership title before. What we’re looking for is an

experienced senior technician who has the technical credibility to earn their team’s respect, the communication skills to deal confidently with clients, and the maturity to take ownership of outcomes — not just tasks.

If you’ve been the person your colleagues turn to on site, you’ve shown newer techs the ropes, or

Ability to manage and motivate a team of technicians and apprentices effectively.

you’ve been quietly ready to take on more — this is the opportunity.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence

quickly with support
