Primary Purpose of Role

The Multiskilled Support Worker provides high-quality, person-centred support to NDIS participants across a variety of settings, including in-home, Supported Independent Living (SIL), respite, and the community. This role involves assisting with personal care, domestic tasks, community participation, and behaviour support, while upholding the values of dignity, choice, inclusion, and respect.

Key Responsibilities 

Direct Support

• Assist participants with personal care tasks (e.g. showering, dressing, toileting).
• Support daily living skills including meal preparation, domestic duties, and routines.
• Facilitate access to community, social and recreational activities.
• Transport participants safely to appointments or outings.

Complex Support

• Deliver support involving PEG feeding, manual handling, or mobility aids (where trained).
• Implement behaviour support strategies as per Behaviour Support Plans.
• Monitor and report changes in health, wellbeing or behaviour.

Documentation & Communication

• Accurately complete shift notes, incident reports, and medication logs.
• Communicate clearly with participants, families, coordinators, and clinical teams.
• Use ShiftCare or other systems to record and report support provided.

Professional Practice

• Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times.
• Uphold participant rights and promote independence, dignity, and choice.
• Follow all relevant policies, procedures, and NDIS Practice Standards.

Qualifications

Essential

• Experience in disability or community support.
• Certificate III Individual Support (Disability)
• Willingness to work across various shifts (incl. mornings, evenings, weekends, overnights).
• Compassionate and person-centred.
• Reliable and accountable.
• Flexible and adaptable to participant needs.
• Strong ethical and cultural awareness.
• Team player with a can-do attitude.

Desirable

• Training or experience in PEG feeding and manual handling.
• Experience working with behaviours of concern or restrictive practices.
• Familiarity with ShiftCare or similar client management systems.

• Current Working with Children Check
• Current First Aid & CPR Certification
• Full working wright in Australia
