About The Role

We have an excellent role for an experienced Electrical Engineer with a history of undertaking design roles on water and wastewater treatment plant projects. This is a critical role within the business which will see you working on a wide variety of infrastructure projects in the water industry and in collaboration with other disciplines, project managers and client representatives. Hence your strong communication skills, including the ability to establish effective working relationships, will be critical to your success.

What will you be doing?

  • Undertaking electrical, instrumentation and controls design on water and wastewater projects, primarily for treatment plants and/or pump stations.
  • Review of electrical design works internally within CMP and by others, including drawings, project specifications, and equipment selections for new installations and upgrades.
  • Prepare and review project specific detailed documentation to support procurement and delivery of major projects.
  • Assisting with the development of electrical standard templates and documents, either for internal use or for our clients.
  • Assisting with the technical development of junior electrical engineers.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other systems.
  • Building strong relationships with our clients and developing compelling technical proposals.

About You

We would like you to bring a proactive and consultative approach, with an ability to prioritise your work and get things done – and to enjoy what you do, like we do. Ideally you will also possess the following:

  • A tertiary degree in electrical or electronic engineering.
  • Ideally 5 – 10 years’ experience in the design of water and wastewater assets.
  • Experience within an engineering consultancy, or in a design role for a contractor or asset owner.
  • CPEng and RPEV status or can be achieved within 12 months with CMP’s support.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of Australian Standards and clients’ design standards/procedures for major water authorities in Australia.
  • High levels of personal integrity, and a desire for continued professional development and improvement as an engineering professional.
