We are seeking Support Workers in Katoomba, NSW who are passionate about providing safe, respectful and person-centred support.

Key Responsibilities
Depending on the participant’s individual support plan and needs, your responsibilities may include:
- Providing person-centred disability support in the home and community.
- Supporting participants with community access and social participation.
- Assisting people to develop confidence, independence and practical life skills.
- Providing companionship and meaningful social connection.
- Supporting participants to attend appointments, activities and community events.
- Assisting with household tasks, meal preparation and daily living activities where required.
- Providing respectful support to people experiencing mental health challenges.
- Using calm, trauma-informed and recovery-oriented approaches where appropriate.
- Supporting children and young people with age-appropriate activities where relevant.
- Adapting communication and support strategies to each participant’s needs.
- Building respectful and trusting relationships with participants and their support networks.
- Respecting each person’s identity, choices, boundaries, routines and preferences.
- Maintaining accurate shift notes and required documentation.
- Communicating professionally with participants, families, Support Coordinators and the Chosen Family team.
- Providing reliable and consistent support and communicating promptly about availability or changes.

Essential Requirements
Applicants should have:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Valid Australian Driver’s Licence
- Access to a reliable vehicle
- Ability and willingness to travel approximately 30 minutes to support participants where required
- Availability for shifts of approximately 3–4 hours or longer, depending on participant requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to safe, respectful and person-centred support
- Respect for people of diverse backgrounds, identities, cultures and lived experiences
- LGBTQIA+ awareness and an inclusive approach to support
Additional qualifications and experience in disability, mental health, aged care, community services, youth work or related fields are highly regarded.
