Description

Lead a service that changes lives across remote Aboriginal communities.

About the Program

West Pilbara Mobile Children’s Service delivers play-based early learning programs to remote Aboriginal communities throughout the Pilbara. The program provides children and families with access to high-quality early childhood education in their local community, supporting children’s development, school readiness, wellbeing, and connection to culture.

Working in partnership with families, Elders, and community members, the service creates culturally safe and inclusive learning environments where children can thrive.

The impact you’ll have in this role:

  • Increase access to quality early childhood education for children living in remote communities.
  • Create culturally safe learning environments that celebrate Aboriginal culture, language and identity.
  • Support children to develop the skills and confidence they need for a successful transition to school.

What you’ll do:

Travel weekly to remote communities and build positive relationships with children, families, Elders and local stakeholders.

  • Lead the day-to-day operation of the Mobile Children’s Service across the Pilbara.
  • Plan and deliver inclusive, culturally responsive early learning programs aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework.
  • Support and develop educators.
  • Collaborate with schools, health services and community organisations to strengthen outcomes for children and families.
  • Manage reporting, funding deliverables, compliance requirements and operational planning.
  • Conduct risk assessments and support safe travel and program delivery in remote locations.
  • Drive long distances and utilise 4WD vehicles where required.

No two days are the same. One day you may be travelling to a remote community and running an early learning program alongside local families, and the next you may be mentoring educators, developing program plans, meeting with community stakeholders, or preparing reports that secure the future of the service.
