About the role:
We are seeking a reliable Camp Chef (Casual) to join our team in Badgingarra, supporting a new construction camp servicing regional projects. This role is hands‑on and varied, involving meal preparation, cleaning, general camp support, and providing day‑to‑day guidance to other general hands. This role would be suitable for a CDP or Commis Chef.
What you’ll do:
- Prepare and cook meals in accordance with approved menus and dietary requirements
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
- Assist with food service, cleaning and general camp duties as required
- Provide day-to-day guidance and support to general hands
- Perform relief duties and assist across camp services when required
- Transport staff and supplies between sites as required
- Monitor staff and guest accommodation standards
- Comply with all HSE policies, procedures and reporting requirements
Selection Criteria:
- Cert III in commercial cookery or relevant qualification (highly regarded)
- Previous experience in FIFO or DIDO (essential)
- At least 5 years’ experience in camp, bulk-catering, or similar environments (highly regarded)
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
- Excellent culinary skills with a passion for creating delicious meals.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Good written English skills
- National Police Clearance (within 6 months)
- Unrestricted Australian Working Rights
