Territory Manager – Lower North Island

Wellington, Hawke’s Bay & Manawatū

Flexible base: Wellington / Auckland / Christchurch/ Central North Island

We’re looking for a Territory Manager to take ownership of our Lower North Island territory, covering Wellington, Hawke’s Bay and Manawatū.

While Wellington-based candidates are ideal, we’re also open to strong applicants based in Auckland or Christchurch, provided you’re comfortable with regular travel and spending meaningful time in market. The priority is finding the right person, not just the right postcode.

This is an opportunity to step into an established territory with a New Zealand–owned business that has been a leader in lighting, electrical and home appliance categories for over 20 years. Our products are well ranged — this role is about execution, relationships and commercial thinking, not cold selling.

The role

Reporting to the Sales Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing and growing your territory by working closely with retail and trade customers, building strong partnerships and driving performance in market.

You’ll spend the majority of your time in the field, supported by a collaborative national sales team who share best practice and back each other.

What you’ll be doing

• Owning and managing the Lower North Island territory end to end

• Building strong, long-term relationships with retail and trade customers

• Driving sales growth through distribution, range optimisation and in-store execution

• Identifying growth opportunities within existing accounts

• Developing new business where it makes commercial sense

• Presenting product solutions and commercial recommendations

• Managing your call cycle and territory planning through CRM

• Working closely with internal teams to deliver strong customer outcomes

About the territory & travel

The territory includes Wellington, Hawke’s Bay and Manawatū and requires regular overnight travel.

Candidates based outside Wellington will need to demonstrate:

• Experience managing multi-region territories

• A structured, disciplined approach to travel planning

• Comfort spending consistent time in market

What we’re looking for

You’ll likely bring:

• Experience as a Territory Manager, Account Manager or Sales Representative

• (FMCG, electrical, lighting, hardware, building supplies, appliances or similar)

• Strong relationship-building skills and commercial confidence

• A structured and disciplined approach to managing a territory

• The ability to work autonomously while staying connected to the wider team

• CRM and Microsoft Office competence

• A full NZ driver’s licence
