👋  About Cars24

Cars24 is one of the world’s leading AutoTech companies and Australia’s largest online pre-loved car dealership. Backed by an A$4.7B global unicorn with operations across three continents, we are transforming how Australians buy and sell cars, from inspection and refurbishment through to doorstep delivery.

Our Sydney reconditioning facility is the engine room of that promise. Every car that leaves us has passed a rigorous 300-point inspection and meets a premium finish standard. We are now building a brand new, purpose-built 30,000 sqm dealership facility in Sydney, and we are looking for skilled, quality-focused people to grow with us into it.

🚀  The Role

We are looking for an experienced Automotive Painter, Prepper or Panel Repairer to join our Sydney reconditioning team. You will be working with state-of-the-art equipment, including a world-class paint booth and tinting system, on a high-volume pipeline of vehicles that need to meet our strict quality standards before they reach customers.

This is a full-time, Monday to Friday role with a consistent 7am-3pm roster. No weekends, no rotating shifts, and a performance bonus structure tied directly to the quality and throughput of your work.

🛠 What You’ll Be Doing

  • Prepare, prime, buff and denib vehicles in line with job sheets and quality specifications
  • Apply paint, primer and clear coat using the Lowbake spray booth and Syrox tinting system
  • Carry out colour matching to a high standard of accuracy and finish
  • Inspect your own work against quality benchmarks before vehicles progress through the pipeline
  • Maintain spray booths, equipment and tools to manufacturer standards on a daily basis
  • Work closely with the wider reconditioning, PDR and delivery teams to keep vehicles moving efficiently
  • Identify and escalate any paint or panel issues outside your scope to keep turnaround times on track

🎯 What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in an automotive paint preparation, spray painting or panel repair role
  • Strong attention to detail and a genuine pride in finish quality
  • Ability to maintain high standards at volume in a fast-paced workshop environment
  • Experience with spray booths and tinting systems (Syrox or similar an advantage)
  • Team player who communicates clearly and takes ownership of their workspace
  • Willingness to learn and take on varied tasks across a full-cycle automotive workshop
  • Valid Australian driver’s licence
  • Full Australian working rights
  • Willingness to undergo a police check (a condition of employment at Cars24)

💰 Why Join Cars24

  • Competitive base salary + performance bonus tied to quality and output
  • Consistent 7am-3pm roster, Monday to Friday — no weekends
  • Tool allowance provided
  • $60/month phone allowance + $500 annual wellness allowance
  • 6 months’ paid parental leave at 80% salary + employee assistance program
  • Work in our current Sydney facility now, and move into a brand new, purpose-built 30,000 sqm dealership — one of the most advanced automotive facilities in Australia

Company Overview

At Cars24, our mission is simple: to make buying and selling cars easy, transparent and fully online.
