Description

Summary:

The Associate Club Doctor will play a vital role in ensuring the health and wellbeing of athletes at the Carlton Football Club. This position will work accross the AFL, AFLW and VFL football programs. This position involves providing medical support, injury management, and health advice to orur players contributing to their overall performance and safety. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in sports medicine and a passion for promoting health in a sporting environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical assessments and treatment for injuries sustained by athletes.
  • Develop and implement injury prevention strategies and health programmes.
  • Collaborate with coaching staff to ensure athletes are fit for training and competition.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for all athletes.
  • Advise on nutrition and lifestyle choices to enhance athletic performance.
  • Conduct regular health screenings and fitness assessments.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in sports medicine and health practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medicine or a related field.
  • Experience in sports medicine or a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of injury management and rehabilitation techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Current registration with the relevant medical board or authority.
