Role Summary

There is the opportunity for a full-time senior radiation therapist to join our Cancer Care Manning Great Lakes team. You will be helping to lead the establishment of a new service, working in a collaborative team environment with the primary purpose to provide high quality radiation therapy planning and treatment delivery services.

You will be responsible for leading the radiation therapy team across either simulation/planning or treatment delivery while ensuring skills development and professional progression. Expertise in current techniques such as intercranial SRS, lung, spine and liver SABR, respiratory management and surface guided RT is essential. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of the radiation therapy team across either simulation/planning or treatment delivery.
  • Provide a high level of expertise and guidance to the radiation therapy team for clinical matters, ensuring high-quality, safe, patient-centred clinical radiation therapy planning and treatment delivery.
  • Maintain the highest standards of patient care and continually enhance the quality of service and patient experience across the work area.
  • Lead a high-performance culture that delivers excellence in patient care services and team development.
  • Develop and implement new work instructions and documentation for all aspects of new techniques/equipment/procedures. Train staff in these new techniques, equipment or procedures as required.
  • Be part of the multidisciplinary team to ensure patient needs are met in a timely manner.

 Experience & Qualifications 

  • Proven clinical and technical expertise in radiation therapy planning and treatment delivery across a range of advanced radiotherapy techniques.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills that inspire the trust and confidence required to build strong clinical teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership of high-quality radiation therapy services including understanding and adherence to ACHS national quality standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong patient focus where the patient is at the centre of every decision.
  • Highly enthusiastic, motivated, and quick to adapt in a supportive environment.
  • Experience with Monaco/Elekta preferred by not essential.
  • Current AHPRA radiation therapist registration.
  • Current NSW Radiation Use Licence.
  • Criminal Record Clearance.
  • Proof of Vaccination Record for Health Care Workers.
